The application scope of Groove (clamp) connection gate valves
Recently, the factory has completed a batch of Groove (clamp) connection gate valves orders, the size is DN65-80. The following is the introduction of this valve.
The open-stem grooved gate valve is mainly composed of valve body, valve cover, gate plate, valve stem and handwheel. When it is necessary to open the valve, the stem is moved upward by rotating the handwheel. The stem is connected to the gate, and the gate will leave the seat as the stem rises, at which point the valve channel is opened and the fluid can pass through smoothly.
When the valve is closed, the handwheel is turned in reverse, and the stem drives the gate down, which is tightly attached to the seat and thus interrupts the flow of fluid. This way of controlling the position of the gate through the up and down movement of the valve stem makes the opening and closing state of the valve at a glance, because the position of the valve stem directly shows the position of the gate.
Open rod grooved gate valves have a variety of advantages:
1. Good visibility
Because the stem is exposed, the operator can visually see how open the valve is, facilitating precise flow control. For example, in some chemical laboratory equipment that requires fine adjustment of liquid flow, this visibility allows the operator to accurately adjust the flow according to the experimental requirements.
2. Simple structure
It has fewer major components and is relatively easy to install and maintain. During plant equipment maintenance, maintenance personnel can quickly remove and replace damaged parts, reducing equipment downtime.
3. Good sealing performance
The seal between the gate and the seat is usually made of an elastic material such as rubber, which effectively prevents fluid leakage when the gate is closed. In the water supply and drainage system, it can be ensured that water will not seep out when the valve is closed, ensuring the tightness of the system.
Therefore, open rod grooved gate valves are generally suitable for the following ranges:
1. Water supply and drainage system
In urban water supply and drainage pipes, open-stem channel gate valves can be used to control the flow of water. For example, in the secondary water supply system of the residential area, the water supply of each building can be easily controlled through it.
2. Fire protection system
In the fire water system, used to control the delivery of fire water. When a fire occurs, the valve can be quickly opened to provide sufficient water for the fire fighting equipment.
3. Chemical industry
In some chemical fluid transportation pipelines that have not particularly high flow control requirements, open-rod trench gate valves can also be used to control the flow of liquids or gases, such as in the initial transportation of some acid and alkali liquids.
